Her-story
Charity Chiquira Lockhart, born on September 21, 1975, in Cleveland, Ohio, emerged into the music scene at the age of 12 with the group Revelation, sharing stages with gospel legends like Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin. Her journey led her to Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music and Wright State University, where she excelled in Jazz Improvisation and Classical music, winning numerous vocal awards.
In 1999, Charity embraced a role with The Golden Gospel Singers, kickstarting her European performances and receiving mentorship from Broadway’s Melba Moore. Amid challenges in 2008, she moved to Arizona, overcoming adversity through the Skye Idol competition, winning $1000 with her emotional rendition of the iconic song, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, to secure a new beginning.
From touring Japan to leading workshops, Charity’s talent blossomed. Joining TAD Management, she pays tribute to Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, delivering a captivating blend of Pop, Soul, Gospel, and Classical hits. She travels the world encouraging audiences with her story in theaters and cruise ships. Brace yourself for an emotional journey through iconic songs like “I Will Always Love You” and “Respect” in her spectacular shows.
